Services

Sessions are 50 minutes ($150) or 80 minutes in length ($225).

Talk Therapy

Along with mindfulness and somatic (body-based) techniques, I help you explore how early relationships shape your emotional/psychological health, focusing on attachment and self-identity.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an 8-phase contemporary experiential therapy that helps individuals process traumatic, stuck, or persistent memories. It can also help process persistent sensations or feelings if the person doesn’t have a clear memory to process.

EMDR works by untangling the neural networks through guided bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping), fostering healing and emotional resilience without having to deeply hash out the difficult memories.

About Me

I’m a therapist who transitioned from a successful career in digital marketing to the world of therapy after experiencing my own mental health challenges and burnout. This journey led me to seek a deeper connection to myself and fulfillment by helping others navigate their own emotional landscapes.

My therapeutic style is characterized by humour, meaning-making, and fostering authenticity. I reject the traditional “blank canvas” model and believe in the power of self-discovery and acceptance. I help my clients to integrate different parts of their personalities and become resilient navigators of their own lives.

I primarily work with both neurotypical and neurodivergent (or suspected neurodivergent) adults who are facing difficult transitions, depression, anxiety, grief, and relationship challenges. If you’re neurodivergent and/or queer, you can feel seen and heard by a member of your own community.

My unique blend of somatic and mindfulness approaches, along with my training in trauma modalities such as EMDR, offers a multifaceted pathway to healing.

Outside of sessions, I’m an animal lover, enjoy nature, and my biggest obsession is Dungeons and Dragons.

Why Work With Me?

A Trauma-Informed, Neuro-Affirming Approach

I draw from a blend of evidence-based modalities, to create a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming space for healing. Whether you’re neurotypical or neurodivergent, I’ll tailor our work to support your unique needs and goals.

Therapy That Feels Human

I believe in showing up authentically, not as a blank slate. My style is warm, conversational, and client-centered, often with a bit of humour, when it fits. I’ll meet you where you are and help you make space for all parts of yourself.

Flexible Sessions That Fit Your Life

You can book either 50- or 80-minute sessions, depending on what feels right for you. I offer virtual or phone-based appointments, and I provide a free 15-minute consult to make sure we’re a good fit before diving in.

Inclusive Care Rooted in Real-Life Experience

As someone who’s navigated my own mental health journey and identifies as queer and neurodivergent, I bring deep empathy and lived understanding to this work. I’m passionate about creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space, especially for those who don’t always feel seen in traditional therapy.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your current therapy rates or fees?

My rate for a 50-minute session is $150. It can sometimes be the case that a session will run to 60 minutes, as I feel like it’s important to end on an appropriate and considerate note. Some clients feel like the added few minutes can be a nice winding down or transition period before continuing with the rest of their day. Longer sessions of 80 minutes are also available and cost $225.

What happens during the free 15-minute consultation?

The free 15-minute consultation is designed for us to get to know each other a little bit better and see if our personalities mesh and if my skills are the right fit for what’s going on in your life. The most important factor in therapy is that you feel comfortable and can vibe with your therapist–after all, you’ll be discussing some important and personal topics down the road! If we aren’t a good fit, I’d be happy to pass along a few names of someone that might be a more appropriate match. At the end of the day, my goal is for those that are seeking a positive and comfortable therapeutic relationship to be able to find one with as little hassle as possible.

What should I expect during my first therapy session?

Often, the first few therapy sessions often involve history-taking, where I’ll ask questions about your upbringing, lifestyle habits, current struggles, and anything else that feels important to explore. That said, some people prefer to dive right into it and start tackling the heavier issues right off the bat. There’s no right or wrong way to start therapy; it’s all about what feels best for you!

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept credit cards. Payment is processed at the end of each session. You’ll receive a receipt for services via email, and if you have extended health benefits covering Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), can submit that. I do not submit claims directly to insurance companies on your behalf.

What is your policy regarding cancellations?

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled session will incur a full session charge. That said, emergencies happen! Please get in touch as soon as possible via email if you think you’ll be unable to attend your session.

Can I use my insurance to cover therapy sessions?

Each policy is different, but most extended insurance policies will cover psychotherapy. It’s recommended to check with your insurance provider for more information, and look for “Psychotherapy” coverage or counselling services from a “Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)”.

Are you covered by OHIP?

Unfortunately at this time, OHIP does not cover psychotherapy.

Do you charge tax/GST for psychotherapy sessions?

I don’t charge tax on any of my services: as of June 20, 2024, psychotherapy services offered by psychotherapists are exempt from both GST/HST.

How do you ensure my privacy and maintain confidentiality?

I follow all confidentiality rules outlined by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), do not keep hard copies of my notes, and do my best to keep session notes informative yet brief. While no video/online meeting is guaranteed to be 100% free from risk, the hosting platform I use for our sessions is end-to-end encrypted

Telephone sessions are also available if that feels more comfortable, but it’s important to ensure you can be present for sessions in a safe and secure environment. There are a few cases (which can be found here) where I am compelled by my regulatory body to share my notes.

Correspondence via email is best limited to booking, rescheduling, or cancelling, but I will sometimes provide links, articles, or resources via email for clients to explore between sessions if that feels appropriate.

Do you provide phone sessions?

While I find video sessions are best to maintain the human connection of therapy, I do offer sessions via phone. Some clients enjoy the flexibility of phone sessions or find that it’s a nice break from screen time.

Importantly, for safety reasons I do not conduct EMDR sessions via phone as it’s crucial to be able to monitor a client’s presentation to ensure they do not get overwhelmed, experience too much discomfort, or get emotionally flooded. Part of the EMDR process is that the therapist is able to visually monitor a person’s personalised level of upset or distress.

What provinces do you offer therapy for?

I’m registered with and regulated by The College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) #15744. That said, I’m able to offer psychotherapy services to other provinces. Please feel free to get in touch via email with any questions or book a consultation!

Do you offer sliding scale sessions?

I reserve some spots for sliding scale therapy sessions. Please book a consultation so we can discuss this further and I can share if there are any sliding scale slots available.
